One rule that I have, which I used to say in a far less articulate way, is that things will never inevitably go exactly the way you planned. That’s just life. However, if you work really hard and you are kind and you are generous, you will make things far beyond your original intentions, things that will surpass any dreams you could possibly have. It’s important to remember that. So anything you’re putting out there, regardless if it’s to be an artist or to be a chef, I believe in hard work and kindness. With that, you will go so far.

The trick is to combine your waking rational abilities with the infinite possibilities of your dreams. Because, if you can do that, you can do anything.

Aaron Burr, Part 2 by Dana O’Keefe

History is a contest, not unlike a duel. What if the figures of the past could speak in their defense? “Aaron Burr, Part 2” re-imagines the famous shoot-out between Alexander Hamilton and Burr, from the perspective of the underdog himself.

SO GOOD

Every filmmaker’s personal bearing plays a role in their work. All directors are also actors, though, in many cases, ones who reserve their performances for cast and crew off-camera. What directors do isn’t just a matter of choosing the shots and guiding the actors; their main work is charismatic—creating a world from their personal influence, from the emanations of their presence, from which their sartorial style is inseparable.

Don’t fall asleep yet. Contrary to popular belief that’s not where dreams get accomplished.
